Busy busy

Bloggers,

I apologize for being absent these last few days. As you can imagine, we are getting into the thick of the transfer reading process and it's difficult to go back and forth. I will get to your comments as soon as I can beginning tomorrow. Please direct all transfer inquiries here rather than Dean J's blog. Thanks for being patient.
For your enjoyment, this is a picture taken in Pavilion Two off of the Lawn.

Hi
my transcript status says that college transcript was not yet received. Should I send it one more time?

On March 17th you informed us not to panic if our transcripts had yet to be shown to be as received. I must admit that the paranoia that had been subdued by your posting has now returned. One of the three transcripts I sent still shows unreceived. It has been two months since I sent it and since decisions are less than a month away I have again grown worried. I do check my e-mail and SPAM filter everyday for any word from the school that they do not have it, but as of yet I have not received anything. At this point, should I keep waiting or should I now call the admission office?

Thanks!

nick,

I would definitely call them if I were you. A call won't affect your admission chances. The worst thing that could happen if it's not a good time to call is that the receptionist might get impatient ;)

How quickly will on-campus family housing be available if we are accepted? More importantly, WILL housing be available if we are accepted? I will have to move my daughter and I to Charlottesville, find a new job, et cetera, and if I have to hunt for off-campus housing, I'll need all the heads-up I can get.

Hey there,

I just want to wish everyone the best of luck on their potential acceptance letters! I went through this process last year, and sadly did not get in. However, I am trying again. If anyone has any questions regarding the process feel free to ask them! Have a good one, and the best of luck to us all!

Okay, I have just checked with our filing department and then are making final searches for transcripts in the office. This will continue through Friday of this week and early next week. That means emails will start going out next week. However, I am trying to come up with a quicker solution. I will have an answer for you tomorrow. In any case, I would advise you to get a hold of your missing transcripts and be prepared to fax or email them to us. Please hold off on this for right now until I come back to make a post tomorrow.

Thanks for your patience,
Transfermer

If you call the office, they will tell you the same thing. "You should hear from us via email in the next week."

Rage Kage,

Assuming you are admitted, housing information will come in the mail after we recieve your deposit. Assuming that comes by mid-May, housing information will arrive in early June. For information on family housing, please go to this website, www.virginia.edu/housing.

For the summer courses, do you provide room and board and if so, what are the rates ? I have applied as a transfer student for second year (currently a first year) and am interested, if admitted of course, to take a class during the summer.

Also, I am a government and political science major so what course would you suggest I take? I hope I am not getting too ahead of myself by asking these questions before I am even admitted...

I feel so stupid! I didn't even know there was family housing on campus! I've been looking in Charlottesville for an affordable apartment - I am a native after all - but everything in Cville is so expensive that I haven't been able to find a place for my son and I. Now that I know I may not have to worry about housing while going to school.... :)

Actually, now that I think about it, do you know of any realty groups in Charlottesville that give students a discount on their monthly rent?
