We hope you all enjoyed your holiday season and are ready to hit the new year with recharged energy!  So many people use this time of year to set goals and make plans.  If those goals include transferring to UVA, we are excited for you to be here and we are happy to help support you during the process.  Please visit the blog often and review the information and shared resources.  Keep in mind the age of each post (most recent post = most accurate information) and that processes change over time with new systems and new people.  

 

Speaking of new people...did we ever let you know that the transfer team expanded?!?  We keep referring to this transfer team, and you may not even know there is a dedicated team now!  Over the years, we’ve had great colleagues who worked with transfer as part of their jobs, and we are so thankful for them and their efforts.  The University is growing its support for transfer as a whole – the students, relationships with the community colleges, processes, and support during and after the transition.  As part of this effort, the Office of Undergraduate Admission was given the opportunity to grow its team and brought on two new members with a focus on the transfer process and supporting students.  This team joins another expanding team here at UVA in the community college partnership program.  Community College Partnerships works directly with our Virginia Community College System (VCCS) schools, while the transfer team in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions works with all transferring students.

Another Semester Wrapping Up

Hello, Hoos Looking to Transfer! 

As the fall semester comes to an end, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on the excitement UVA Transfer has enjoyed this term.  Not only were we able to welcome another round of Hoos Looking to Transfer to Grounds in August, but in December we offered admission to a strong group of applicants to the College of Arts and Sciences and are looking forward to introducing them to the family in-person in January. 

 

We had the opportunity to meet so many students over email, through phone calls, via Zoom, and during college visits.  Of course, we are always happy to talk about UVA, but as educators, we are thrilled to be a part of any student’s educational journey - no matter where it takes them.  Getting to interact with all of you is why we work to provide these services. 

 

The University, as a whole, is strengthening its commitment to transfer students and their successful transition from previous institutions to UVA and beyond.  We have enjoyed continuing to build relationships with our Virginia Community College System school partners and are excited to grow our joined services with them.  As we expand services for all transfer students, we remain focused on supporting and encouraging them with information and resources throughout the different phases of the process.  With the transfer team growth, we are eager to try new things and expand the support the Office of Undergraduate Admission and the University have been offering.  We have been participating in many meetings where transfer has been a key topic, and we are energized to be a part of this larger focus. 

 

But for now, this is a time to reflect on the work accomplished, the relationships built, and take some time to recharge for the exciting next steps ahead.

Reminder for Spring 2026 Transfer Offer Students

Hello, Future Possible Hoos!💙🧡 

Are you wondering why today’s date is sticking in your mind?🤔  In all the excitement of receiving your admission offer, we don’t want you to forget that you have next steps to complete the process of attending UVA in January.  Today is the deadline for submitting your deposit towards attendance.📅  You can accept your offer and pay your deposit through your MyUVA Application Portal.
