Future Hoos – did you know that we travel around to Virginia community colleges throughout the year? It’s true! Not only by request from local community colleges, but also through VACRAO – the Virginia Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers – which hosts college fairs at community colleges across the state.
UVA representatives from the Office of Undergraduate Admission (OUA) and Community College Partnerships (CCP) travel and meet hundreds of students interested in transferring to UVA. Sometimes we’re set up at tables at fairs, sometimes you’ll see us joining classes to talk with students, and sometimes we’re part of panels where students can ask questions about the transfer process and life at UVA.
Make sure to follow your local community college’s social media for event information and check out their event calendars for dates we’ll be visiting in the spring. Always remember: your community college advising unit is a great resource for events and information.

If you’re a Virginia Community College System (VCCS) student with a last-minute question and don’t want to wait until spring – we’ve got something for you! CCP and OUA are hosting three virtual information sessions throughout the rest of the year with two of our transfer team members: Alena Mackay-Smith, our Virginia Community College Student Financial Aid Coordinator, and Quana Dennis, our Transfer Admission Counselor.
