Representatives from our office will be visiting a small number of community colleges next week. If you are interested in coming to meet with us and discuss the ins and outs of transfer admission, contact your transfer counselor or student/academic services office for details.

NVCC - Manassas -- Tuesday, September 6 - 10am-2pm
NVCC - Annandale -- Wednesday, September 7 - 9am - 6pm
NVCC - Alexandria -- Thursday, September 8 - 9am-6pm

We'll be visiting other campuses later in the fall.
Stay tuned for those details and information on a transfer open house here in Charlottesville.

Dear Transfermer,

I am planning on transferring to UVA under the GAA next fall. Ive been working towards my Associate's Degree at John Tyler Community College where I am maintaining a 3.9 GPA. However, I recently found out that I took a high school dual enrollment class back in 2007 that doesn't fit into my degree program in any way, and I also don't want the grade I got in that class included in my GPA at JTCC. My question is whether or not I have to include this class from high school into my GPA calculation as well as my college records when I apply under the GAA? Thank you!

I should also mention that the dual enrollment class was with a different community college, not JTCC.

Hi Zachary,
You must have the grade requirements in ALL VCCS courses taken, DE or regular. All VCCS courses will be factored into your VCCS GPA.

Hello,
I am applying for transfer for Spring Admission 2012, from NVCC. Recommendations are not required, but I would like to send some from professors and an employer. Should they be sent with CommonApp or have them sent to the Admissions Office? Thanks!

Dear Transfermer,

Will you be come back to the NOVA Annandale Campus on a community college Visit?

Owen,
Unfortunately, I don’t think the common app accepts electronic recommendations for our transfers. Your recommenders can email them to us at transferadmission@virginia.edu or uvarecommendations@virginia.edu or they can mail them.

Anon,
We will be attending the college fair on October 12.

Dear Transfermer,

I was wondering if it is possible to transfer as a junior for the spring semester. Also, is it possible to transfer twice?
