This evening we will make some offers from the waitlist. We are offering to students in Nursing, Commerce, Engineering and Arts and Sciences. All told, it will be about 80 students. Most of these will come from the College of Arts and Sciences. Our method of communication is via email, but these students can also check their SIS accounts whereby the decision will be changed to offer. Instructions on deadlines for depositing will be in the email. Please do not call the office if you do not get an email or if your decision hasn't changed.
This does not mean the waitlist is closed. After hearing from this crop of students, we will look at our numbers and see if we can offer to more students. It can be a long process and historically, it doesn't wrap up until the end of June or early July. I will announce it on the blog when the process is finished. Hang in there everyone.
Thank you so much for the update! I know I'm not the only one that checks this blog every day for news
ReplyDeleteWhat time would be "this evening"? Should we have gotten an email by now if we'll be getting one?
ReplyDeleteThank you!
GOT IN!!!!! Thank You So Much Transfermer for all your help!
ReplyDeleteOh my GOODNESS. I MADE IT! I'm literally shaking and oh man I can't even oh my...
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and good luck to everyone else!
Transformer and Admissions Office Thank you for your work! and thansk you for getting us the result during your day off. I love you guys! you are the best!
ReplyDeleteCongrads to all of the students who got admitted!!
I have a quick question. When will we be allowed to enroll ourselves in classes?
ReplyDeleteNevermind, I'm sorry, I didn't look at the earlier post on orientation and signing up for classes. Thanks again Transfermer and Congrats EVERYONE!! :DDD
ReplyDeleteI'm still on the wait list...
ReplyDeleteMe too.....
ReplyDeleteme too+1...........
ReplyDeleteI was offered admission but will most likely not be attending. (I was accepted into Georgetown, and offered a generous financial aid package, which was my first choice school.) Hopefully this is good news for one of you still on the wait list. :)
ReplyDeleteMy decision could be influenced, however, by my financial aid package. My aid is not listed on SIS, and it appears from the email that it won't be available until Thursday? It was a big vague.
I have an kind of unrelated question. After I got accepted last month, I was sent another e-mail by the head of Department of the Biomedical Engineering Program and was told the I needed to do an extra application. The deadline was May 31st. I was wondering when can I expect to hear back from them with their decision? They didn't say or tell me anything else and it is making a little nervous because I need to start planning
ReplyDeleteI applied after my senior year of high school (rejected), after my freshman year of college (waitlisted, not accepted), for spring 2012 (rejected), and for fall 2012 (waitlisted). I'm proud to say that finally, I was just accepted!
ReplyDeleteFor everyone who was accepted, I look forward to seeing you this Fall! To those who weren't, never lose hope. If you want it badly enough, it'll happen!
Cheers all!
FINALLY! I GOT IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN! I wish all of you guys best of luck ! NEVER GIVE UP! NEVER!
ReplyDeleteI GOT IN!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR HELP TRANSFERMER
ReplyDeleteCongrats to everyone, still waiting
ReplyDeleteDoes that mean those still on the wait list won't receive any decision within next week because the newly admitted need some time to consider the offer?
ReplyDeleteIs it possible to switch to a different school within UVA once accepted? (As in now, not later on)
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry this question doesn't really go with this thread, but I couldn't find the information anywhere else. I have been accepted, but I need to inform UVA of an address change, I remember it being mentioned before, but what email address can I send that information to? Thanks for everything Transfermer!
ReplyDeleteWhen will the second batch of offers come out?
ReplyDeleteMy spring GPA is 3.93 (previous 4.0) and I'm still on the wait list.
ReplyDeleteDoes this mean there will be no transfer offers from the waitlist for Architecture?
ReplyDeleteGuess I'm not going to get in.. still on the list. At least I got closer than last year..
ReplyDeleteThis is what I get for choosing engineering.. when will the second round come out? Soon?
ReplyDeleteDear Transfermer,
ReplyDeleteHow many are still there on McIntire's wait list? And How many were put off this time?
if no one was taken off the waitlist for the A school, can we assume that means all the transfer applicants who were offered admission accepted their offers? and could you please tell us how many people are on the A school waitlist?
ReplyDeleteHey Transfermer,
ReplyDeleteI was accepted off the wait list on Monday and was expecting to receive a financial aid package by Thursday. However,I recently received something on my to-do list, an IRS transcript. I ordered the transcript and it says it will take 5-7 days to receive it. So after I receive the transcript and send it in to the financial aid office and they process it then offer me a financial aid package, I have two days from that day to accept the offer?
THANKS
Being an international student is a fatal flaw for McIntire.
ReplyDeleteInternational transfers = third-class applicants + no financial aid + triple tuition fees
ReplyDelete........
ReplyDeleteGreat question..when the second wave of transfer offerings....also how are "we" choosen off the WL since it is not ranked...seems very random and not too comforting...
ReplyDeleteSo far, this is not working like I had hoped...I really wanted to get an offer off the waiting list..I am coming from a top ranked university with a 3.95 GPA but an "out of state" transfer into second year. How does being out of state play into wait list..Also is there an average percentage as to how many accept versus decline a wait list offer?
ReplyDeleteHi Jane,
ReplyDeleteI totally feel you! I'm an international student with GPA4.0 but still on the list (been accepted into Cornell, USC-Marshall, UT-Austin-McCombs and UNC).
@Jane Doe,
ReplyDeleteIf the transfer waitlist is anything like the first year waitlist, it is comprised of actually 8 lists. An in-state and OSS for each school. They pull from the lists according to their numbers of spots to fill for IS and OSS.
Transfermer please correct me if I have misspoken.
Hey, if you're still looking for off-grounds housing, try looking at http://virginia.uloop.com/housing/
ReplyDeleteAny news, pleaseeeeeeee?
ReplyDeleteTo those who got in in the first round of wait-list admission,
ReplyDeleteCan you tell me your deadline of accepting the offer so that I can estimate when the second round will be?
Thanks.
Did transfermer just show up to delete some crap????
ReplyDeletePlease Transfermer, give us another update
ReplyDeleteWe'll be making more offers later this week. I can't say when, but the numbers will be small. I'll write again when it's set to happen.
ReplyDeleteHere are some tips for the future. Please check the email address you gave us on your application. Please check your spamboxes and junkmail. If you would like financial aid, make sure you have submitted the FAFSA, CSS Profile and you and your parents' basic tax information. For more on that, see here: http://www.virginia.edu/financialaid/enter12-13.php
Thanks transfermer!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the waiting is about to over. If I don't receive any email this week, I'll just go to Cornell.
Thanks so much!!
Yeah, I can let it go and move on.
ReplyDeleteFantastic
