Please do not call the office...

Please do not call the office to ask for decisions. We are working so very hard to complete the transfer review by the date we've had posted on our website. If we plan to release decisions earlier than May 1st, you'll find the news here. We are doing the balancing act of reading transfer applicants and working with an expected 7,000 visitors ( Yay for spring break in Virginia high schools and New England) to our office this week, be it prospective and admitted first-year students. I know the wait for decisions is hard, but hold on and May 1st will be here before you know it.

  1. Only 10 days, 6 hours and 45 minutes left until midnight May 1st! Based on Google's coutdown ticker.

    Arghh... waiting is so torturous!

    Thank you very much for keeping us up to date! ~=)

  2. Should we be worried if our green circle is not a green check mark yet on our sis page? Also, If we get waitlisted because you need our spring grades (my classes wont end until after may 1st) and we send a final transcript, how long should we expect to wait to hear a definate answer? Thanks

  3. Applicants might want to preserve their mental sanity by staying away from this blog until May 1... Otherwise they'll end up refreshing the page as often as I do :(

    Does green circle mean our applications haven't even been read yet?

  7. Hi Transformer, I just got an email from UVA admissions that sounds like its addressing me as an accepted senior from high school. I'm a little concerned about this because earlier my transfer application was confused with my high school application but I called the office and they said that it was worked out. Should I call them again in light of this email to make sure?

  8. @concerned

    i got the letter also and i think it is just a standard admissions letter. you don't need to call them because of it. i am sure they are already getting more than enough calls.

  10. Were these letters/emails an actual admissions decision? I thought they they would announce on the blog if any decisions were made. Also if we still have a green circle does that mean we're probably wait-listed or denied?

  11. Nice... I haven't get any letter and I have a circle... So this probrably mean that it's denied... :(

  12. I know it's hard to resist the urge to let every single movement play on your emotions, your hopes, your fears, but the fact is, you won't know until you read your decision in SIS and those decisions are not yet out in the world. I will give you a heads up here when they'll be released. Hold tight. At the risk of sounding cliche, I know you can do it.

  13. Oh, the green circles mean that your application is complete and has been prepared for review, be it weeks ago, or just this week.

  14. I have a ready to view check but nothing comes up. Does this mean I was declined admission.

    @Anonymous and others,
    no, it has been said repeatedly that whether you have a green check or a green circle, to stop flipping out and assuming that you were declined admission. the decisions will all be released at once, and it will be announced first on the blog when that date will be (if it is earlier than May 1st)

  16. I think this shows how aewsome and education from UVA is, when so many of us are on pins and needles waiting for the decision. Enjoy the weekend everyone.
