We like to create posts for each decision. Feel free to post here if you have been offered admission. In any spot where you comment, please be respectful of others' feelings and situations. I will delete comments if necessary.
-Financial Aid Awards can only be viewed online this year. Unfortunately, you won't get anything in the mail. These should be available early next week.
-As you can tell, this is the first year in which an admitted student can pay the $250 deposit online. You must click yes and pay the deposit to be a fully matriculated student.
49 minutes left..... tick tock
ReplyDeletei was so sure this meant decisions were up...
ReplyDeleteWHy is this post up if my decision still isn't viewable?
ReplyDeleteIS IT UP NOW?!!! CAN WE CHECH NOW????

ReplyDeletewhat? they decisions? are they up!?!?

ReplyDelete^
I
Lenny must have been watching 88 minutes too..
ReplyDeletei have a deposit due for $250 but no decision report yet...strange. Does this mean I'm in then?
ReplyDeleteI was admitted...
ReplyDeleteThis was my 3rd time applying, my last chance and I go in...
I'm at a loss for words.
I got in!
ReplyDeleteme too!!! my last chance and I did it!! congrats to everyone who was admitted.
ReplyDeletewhen is the deadline for the payment/acceptance?
ReplyDeleteIM ACCEPTEDDDDDDD!
ReplyDeleteDear Lenny:
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your offer of admission to the University of Virginia! One of the greatest pleasures in being an admission dean is inviting distinguished and talented students to join our academic community. We acknowledge your achievements and express our confidence in your continued success. On behalf of the Admission Committee, it is my pleasure to extend this offer of admission to you. We have mailed you an official letter with important enclosures which you should receive shortly.
Congratulations, all!
ReplyDeleteI got in!!! AH! I was so sure I would be rejected. For all of those who are the underdog, this is for you: I had a 3.8 in high school and a 3.7 in college. You can do it too!
ReplyDeleteI read somewhere today that the deposit is not due until the 15th. I'm looking for some confirmation on that date.
ReplyDeleteI was offered admission!
ReplyDeleteMy proudest achievement to date :)
ReplyDeleteDOES ANYONE know when the official transfer orientation is?
Got accepted!!!!!!! McIntire School here I go!!!
ReplyDeleteI made a group for admitted students:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=77084648417
YESSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI got in McIntire!!!!yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey!!!!.. CONGRATS TO ALL!... :)I am so honored right now!
ReplyDeleteDean J. and Transfermer...
ReplyDeleteI lost my word. I am actually crying right now. Thank you guys so much for believing in me. This was my third time applying as well, I will see you all in fall 09!!!
p.s do I click accept/decline button? What do I do??!!
:)
ReplyDeleteQuestion about the deposit...I just received an email from the AccessUVA Coordinator saying that my deposit fee has been waivered but I did not apply for a waiver. I'm not complaining, I just want to make sure this is accurate. Thanks
ReplyDeleteI GOT IN!!! I am so excited. I can't even contain myself. Class of 2011!!
ReplyDeleteI got it! Oh my I got in! I can not keep myself together. Quick question, How can we figure out what credits will transfer?
ReplyDeleteUVA has a transfer credit evaluator... I could only evaluate the credits I had from another VA school though. My credits from PA weren't on there at all.
ReplyDeleteNCVVtransfer, I got the same e-mail. It's curious, because I haven't submitted the school's financial aid application... but hey! I got in!
ReplyDeleteWhat are all your stats accepted ones????
ReplyDeleteI would prefer to see some VCCS stats
UVAfan, what kind of stats?
ReplyDeleteI'm transferring from NVCC with 72 hours after 4 semesters with a 4.0 gpa.
Is this the stuff you're asking about?
Precisely, NVCCTransfer
ReplyDeleteWhat school did you apply to?
Syndey,
ReplyDeleteI wish I were you haha congrats though! i applied to curry school of education w a 3.8 in high school and a 3.93 at a 4-yr college and got rejected again :-(
I applied to Arts & Sciences to study Political Theory. Other than my NVCC stats, I'm also a disabled veteran, so they may have helped.
ReplyDeleteDid anyone here apply to the nursing school?
ReplyDeleteI think I got admitted to the nursing program but it says its for the fall semester. I thought the nursing program required transfer students to enroll in the summer. So I'm not sure if I was admitted to arts and science or the SON.
UVAFan,
ReplyDeleteI applied to McIntire with a 3.96 GPA after 69 credits at NVCC and a 1980 SAT. I was really nervous about getting in... I am so excited/happy/honored/relieved etc etc etc (happy feelings) :)
I GOT IN! Not only that but I have already accepted my offer and paid the deposit! UVA HERE I COME!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to all,
ReplyDeleteI was just admitted as a transfer from Cornell, by way of a community college in Florida. I've gotten into a number of good schools and now my decision has gotten even tougher.
I am well aware of the great academics of UVa, but being from FL I may not be as cognizant of UVa's intangibles that may help me make my decision.
Can anybody help me out?
I was just wondering if the person who posted under the name Kylie went to CCHS?
ReplyDeleteI GOT IN!!!! I <3 U ALL
ReplyDeleteCant wait to meeeeeeet you!!!!
UVAFan,
ReplyDeleteI applied to Arts & Sciences with a 3.9 GPA and 61 credit hours. I did the GAA, which I HIGHLY recommend.
Haha yeah hey Lindsay. Congrats :]
ReplyDeleteCongrats to you too!
ReplyDeletewow! I got accepted!! yahooooo!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to everyone who got in!
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOSH! This is the most incredible feeling I've ever felt. After being rejected by 6 of my 8 schools last year and choosing my 7th choice, it is so nice to have my hard work pay off!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to everybody else who was accepted!
how can you find out where it's posted?
ReplyDeleteIt is posted on SIS and after you log in, click "view result".
ReplyDeletei got in with a 3.6 at a private 4 year school and like a B+ average in high school... then again i'm from ffx county and they know how intense that is
ReplyDeleteahh i can't find the "view result" button on the sis page
ReplyDeletewhere do you log in?
ReplyDeleteIf you scroll down a bit, the VIEW DECISION button is right in the center of the page.
ReplyDeletewhere do you get your username and password?
ReplyDeleteI'm with Anon at 6:48. 3.6 UW from a NOVA prep school, 2200 SAT. 3.94 with 18 credit hours in college. I didn't apply as a freshman. I have never been more shocked! :) My reaction was a combination of laughing, crying, and screaming.
ReplyDeleteYou received an email when you submitted your CommonApp that had instructions on how to log in. There is a post on the Transfer Blog that also tells you how to login.
ReplyDeleteI still cannot view my decision.
ReplyDeleteMine still says application complete with no check mark to view I'm a bit confused anyone else with my kind of problem?
Accepted.
ReplyDeleteI graduated from a local C'ville high school with a 3.6, had 64 credit hours and a 3.78 from a private 4-year college, then I took 14 credits at PVCC.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for all of you guys!!!
ReplyDeleteI on the other hand was waitlisted :(
But theres still a glimmer of hope :)
I'm keeping my head up!
i can't log in i think i may have accidentally deleted the email with the computing ID and password info. any thoughts on how i could figure this out?
ReplyDeleteanon 7:00
ReplyDeleteour stats are exactly the same haha (except 3.5 in HS)
i couldn't be more surprised. now i've got a tough call to make between unc, uva, and staying at villanova
If you deleted the email, you're gonna have to email the admissions office or call them to retrieve your log in information. I don't know the email address or phone number, though. You can get it off the UVA admissions website.
ReplyDeleteI was accepted but there is something bothering me now. What do I tell my current university?
ReplyDeleteOMG Chuck you bring up an amazingly important point. Hahaha I can't believe I didn't even think of it. What DO we tell our current university?
ReplyDeleteI emailed my advisor to make sure there wasn't anythign formal that I had to do. She emailed me back and said that the only thing I would have to do is withdraw from classes for the Fall. I didn't register for classes so I don't have to do anything. She siad that she would put the email in my file in case anyone asked what happened to me but that is about it. BTW I am currently at VT...
ReplyDeleteHey,
ReplyDeleteFor the folks that got the AccessUVa email did you get it after you checked your decision on ISIS or before?
Oh and congrats to all that got in and waitlisted.
Just Curious
Wow, guys, this has been a crazy journey. I can't even begin to describe how happy I have been the past few hours...how many people got accepted to the engineering school on here?
ReplyDeleteFeel so lucky at last (and sad for those denied or waitlisted). Does anyone know about (1) date to reply, (2) whether there's a transfer student orientation, and (3) how to deal with housing
ReplyDeleteIts bitter sweet. Me and my best friend at VCCS both had dreams for UVA. I got in which is amazing but my friend got waitlisted
ReplyDeletedo our GPAs transfer or just credit hours? ha would be great to know given that i have exams comin up
ReplyDeleteCredits transfer but your GPA is reset.
ReplyDeleteAnon @ 5:47
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about your news. I really don't know how the admissions decisions work. Admittedly, I think my other stuff helped to balance out my average-seeming GPAs. I sent them some of my published poetry, an extra 5 page essay, and 3 college professor recommendations. I also graduated from a private college prep school with a lot of leadership positions, writing and achievement awards, community service hours, and extracurriculars. I'm also a minority and only a second-generation college student. But even then, I'm sure there are people like yourself who were just as qualified and it was just luck of the draw.
Stillhopefulhoo (hope fulfilled!):
ReplyDelete1) May 15th is the date to reply
2) Transfer Orientation is July 21st.
3) I think we fill out our housing application soon after May 15th. This one I'm not totally sure about. How many people want to live in Gooch/Dillard?
did anyone apply to any of the ivies?
ReplyDeleteWho is looking for apartmentmates? I am a male, will be junior from Virginia Tech.
ReplyDeletei had a 2.5 in high school from a tough prep school in baltimore and a 4.0 with 62 hours from TCC. I took some time off from high school and college and I think the business/life experience paid off in the decision they made on me. Is there anyone else who is in their early-mid twenties that took time off that has been admitted that would possibly be interested in arranging a housing situation?
ReplyDeleteI also had my fee waived. What is this based on and why was it waived? Of course I am not complaining...
ReplyDeleteI can't believe this, I worked so hard in high school and this was the college I wanted to get into. With a 3.8, 4 years of swim team, soccer, and band, not to mention numerous honor societies I was crushed when I got waitlisted. Now I sit here on the verge of tears because I banged out a 3.8 in my freshmen year in the honors program at George Mason and read the words I had always wanted to hear "Congratulations on your offer of admission to the University of Virginia"
ReplyDeleteCongrats to everyone who got in, good luck to those who got waitlisted, and sorry to those who did not my heart goes out to you all
i have a 3.3 in a 4 year university but a 3.9 from high school...probably helps that i'm a virginian but still, i didn't think i was going to get it! just shows that there are more important things than grades out there...
ReplyDelete@Smiles
ReplyDeleteI really want to live on campus. I'm not so sure if I like how far Gooch/Dillard is supposed to be away from the main buildings but, you know what, I just got into my number one college. I'm freaking psyched as it is. If I can get to live on campus, it doesn't matter much if I have to walk a few more minutes! I'm sure it'll do me a lot of good!
I freaking got into UVA!
Anon @ 1224 - I also am in my mid-late 20's, took time off etc. and was now ACCEPTED!!! But for some strange reason I don't think my wife will be very keen on setting up a housing arrangement with others. Although I have been messing with her saying that I was going to join and live in a frat house and she could come visit. ;)
ReplyDeletehahaha to above comment.
ReplyDeleteIf classes aren't listed on the transfer equivalencies page, what should we do? Will we receive anything about which classes we've gotten credit for?
ReplyDeleteQuick question:
ReplyDeleteI paid my $250 deposit, but now my "to do" list is telling me that i need to send in my transcript and 2 SAT scores again. Is this right? It seems like they should have that information from the actual application.
Btw congrats to everyone who got in!
I was accepted and have been attempting to pay for my $250 deposit, but every time I click on the link "Pay my Tuition Deposit," the link merely disappears and I have nothing to click on... Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to be doing another procedure to pay for the fee online??
ReplyDeleteAnon... is your internet browser blocking pop up windows?
ReplyDeleteAnna,
ReplyDeletemine says the samething too. Even before my decision came out, there was sat score to be sent under my todo list. I contact admission office, and they told me that I don't have to worry about it. Now I paid my deposite, and when I click view my decision, message says incomplete application, and require my sat scores to be sent by 5/15/09. Say... are you roll over applicant like I am?
I'm waiting for my fee waiver to process. I can't wait to get my student email next week and such!! Can't wait to meet everyone at orientation in July.
ReplyDeleteI honestly didn't think that I'd get accepted because I applied on January and I got the mail that says I got accepted yesterday. I truly thank God for He blessed me with this great opportunity. Congratulations to everybody that got accepted!
ReplyDeleteWAH HOO WAH!!!! yeah yaaa got in = ) congrats to everyone big accomplishment!
ReplyDeleteTransfermer,
Thanks for all that you do and I have one question ... What do we tell our current institution? Just inform the registrar's office that we are transferring?
Thanks once again.
does UVA have a transfer day? or a transfer information session before the actual deadline for deposit?
ReplyDeleteDid anybody in virginia receive the actual acceptance letter in mail on saturday?
ReplyDeletewhich buildings have single rooms that's offered to transfers?
ReplyDeleteI know gooch has one, but it's really really small D:
@Anon asking about the physical acceptance letter.
ReplyDeleteI live in Richmond and I received it on Saturday. It's a fairly small letter saying congratulations, they're proud to offer admission to you, go pay your 250 if you want in and second sheet of paper letting you know about the self service center, informing you to keep your grades high, etc. Nothing horribly special
Anonymous-
ReplyDeleteHonestly I don't know what a rollover applicant is. :) I am a 2nd year transfer from GWU in DC. But, it seems like we have largely the same problem- my status is also incomplete. I emailed the transfer Dean as well as the admissions office, so I have yet to hear back from them. We should be alright though- as long as our money is paid. :)
Oh. One last comment, for everyone asking about fee waivers: I e-mailed them asking about it (I didn't see the e-mail until after I paid the @250 deposit!). They said it was based off of your FAFSA application.
ReplyDeleteHopefully they'll be able to reimburse me, but it's not a huge deal if they can't. Sure, money is tight but I had already sat aside $400 for VT's fee, so I'm still out a lot less and I'm at UVA!
Transfer orientation days differ between 3rd and 2nd years. But I know the 3rd year day is July 21st.
ReplyDeleteThe $250 waiver was a combination of your FAFSA and checking the box that said "apply to have fee waived" on your common app. I'm kicking myself in the rear for not taking a chance and just clicking it!
Anna: do you really go to GWU and have been accepted into UVA for your second year? ME TOO! More people than I thought are transferring from GW to UVA. There are at least two people in my building that I always see wearing UVA paraphernalia, and on May 2nd I saw one of them wearing an organge UVA sweatshirt with "VIRGINIA" written across it. I wonder if we've ever met...
ReplyDeleteI know there is no "Days on the Lawn" for transfer students, but if we are planning on visiting this coming weekend (as my parents and I are planning on doing) is there anyone we can talk to specifically about transfer information? I've done the UVA tour and information session twice while I was still in high school, so I don't think I need it a third time. However, I do have specific transfer questions I want answered before I accept my offer of admission. Does the office of admission accommodate transfer students coming in?
ReplyDeletewait, did the message say that they mailed letter with important enclosures? I assumed it would be a large envelope with welcome catalogue..?
ReplyDeleteMaybe we should talk about what we tranfers should do next. What to register.. what to prepare for.. and etc. ya know!
Uhm, for me, there were no major enclosures. It was just a small envelope with a congratulations letter and a paper reminding you to log into SIS and plan for your arrival on grounds on the 22nd of August.
ReplyDeleteIt didn't really say this in the letter, butjust make sure you finish all your to-dos, take the Computer responsibility quiz, sign up for your e-mail, register for housing if you need it. Personally, I'm stuck after registering for e-mail. I went to sign up for Orientation but it had me as a NO for transfer (as well as Echols and all that fun stuff).
But hey, if they want to bring me in as a first year that works too! It's UVA! And the Housing app says I'm not in they're system. I'm assuming it takes a bit more time to propagate everywhere or something. If it's not working by tomorrow or the next day, I'll give them a ring.
Im in.... AWESOME.
ReplyDeleteI got accepted...
ReplyDeleteJust found out today my SIS was going crazyy....... yeaaaaahhhhhhhhhhyyyyyyyaaaaayyyyyy....
So I did set up my e-mail account, and on orientation registration page, it does say transfer for me. Does it say no transfer for you?
ReplyDeleteDoes anybody know which dorm offers single room to transfers? gooch is one, i know, but any other dorm? I was told new building is offered to freshmen since their original dorms are going under construction or something. D:
I took 4 years of spanish in high school and i was accepted into the CLAS. Do I have to take the spanish placement exam before orientation?
ReplyDeleteLatter half of the commments:
ReplyDeleteYou need to tell your current University that you are withdrawing.
We do not have anything resembling Days on the Lawn for transfer students. The great majority of you only applied to UVA and will decide to come barring any negative financial or personal circumstances. If you’d like to visit, there is a Dean of the Day available from 9-5 in Peabody Hall. As you would expect, you won’t get the traditional view of UVA because the students are finishing exams this week and won’t be on Grounds next week.
In a school where 7,000 or so students live on grounds, it is difficult to provide single dorm rooms, but here are some examples: Gooch-Dillard, Hereford Residential College and Brown Residential College. www.virginia.edu/housing
A rollover applicant is someone who applied for Spring and was not admitted. We give these students the option of “rolling over” for Fall review.
If you paid your deposit before you saw the waiver email, please contact the sender of the email for a refund.
The College of Arts and Sciences requires the equivalent of four semesters of college level foreign language. So, yes anon, you will have to take a placement test.
How do I log into my UVA email?
ReplyDeleteTo above comment: use your UVA computing ID and password. After you login you can reset your password to something you remember.
ReplyDeleteman, congrats to all that got in, I took some time to read peoples credentials. I was wait listed, for the fall of 09. I had a 4.0 in high school and a 4.0 in my freshman year...which disappoints me that I was wait listed but, I still have a chance I guess...
ReplyDelete
