Hi everyone,
I wanted to write you a short note before the decisions come out later today. We in admission would like to thank you for your devoted interest to UVA and specifically to this blog. You are brave in posting your questions and so helpful in aiding newcomers and others who seek wisdom and assistance. I've been pleasantly suprised by it. You've been patient as well! Whenever I got bogged down in the applications and couldn't get to blog, you stood by patiently, waiting for the next update.
All of this being said, I know you are eager to see your admission decisions. No matter what happens, remember that this is not a decision on your value as a person. We seek intellectual and challenged transfer students every year - a hefty chunk at 600-700- but we're unable to offer to all of you. We are so lucky to get every application that we receive.
Thank you for tuning into the blog dear readers!
Best wishes to all of you!
Thanks for your hard work here. I'm glad to be the first to post here. Haha~~ GOOD LUCK everybody!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your help this year, Transfermer. This blog has been a great outlet for all of us.
ReplyDeleteP.S. My word verification is "woree." How ironic ;]
Thank you Transfermer... I know I speak for all of us when I say we appreciate everything you do and all the hard work the admission office puts in at UVA.
ReplyDeleteFollowing with what everyone else has written, thank you so much, Transfermer. You've been incredibly helpful in this process. Whatever happens later today with UVA, I will always respect the school and the people at it. You have made this whole process much easier to deal with, and for that, I thank you again.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Transfermer!
ReplyDeleteTransfermer, I also want to give you a BIG THANK YOU. This is my first time writing on this blog, however, I have been following it since February. It has been extremely helpful and insightful! (no to mention stress-relieving). I wish everyone the best...
ReplyDeleteThank you, Transfermer! You've been very patient with us as well. : )
ReplyDeleteBy the way, is anyone else's sis page saying its down for maitenance?
Lol, UVA Transfer, word verification did the same to me a few days ago, only it was telling me to study bio!
Good luck everyone!
Thank you for everything!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
ReplyDeleteThanks Transfermer. Yes, mine does too. They are probably posting as we type :)
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU TRANSFERMER!!! :-)
ReplyDeletehaha sis is down right now...wonder what that means... oooo
ReplyDeleteThanks Transfermer! Though I did not add any comments throughout the blog weeks, I read them every day...which kept me sane through this process and was nice to see that there were others here just as anxious as me! Good luck to everyone.... :O)
ReplyDeletethanks transfermer. :)
ReplyDelete...i'm at work right now and i keep checking every 5 minutes... :/
first time poster, long time reader
ReplyDeletethanks you very much transfermer
I think I speak for everyone that this blog has been of great help to all of us
good luck to all
I can't thank you enough for all you have done throughout this very stressful/exciting process.
ReplyDeleteI will make the best of my decision. As Teapot also said, No matter what the decision is I too will always love and respect UVA and their traditions!
Everyone on here is amazing too!!
Keep your heads held up high and bring on our decisions! :-)
like anon said, sis is down...i'm freaking out, man!
ReplyDeleteSIS is working fine for me. But my decision is still unavailable.
ReplyDeleteit just went down for me...must be going through the alphabet or through another way of identification
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is applying for transfer and I've had so much fun reading the blog entries from afar!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is applying for transfer and I've had so much fun reading the blog entries from afar!
ReplyDeleteHeads up everyone, I hear the decision won't be available until around 5:00 PM.
ReplyDeletewho told you that ?
ReplyDeleteIt might be better to wait until 5 to check anyway since transfermer said that they would all be up by then... I know that it is hard but at least you know that when you go to check it is going to be there... it gives you a chance to prepare yourself... just a thought
ReplyDeleteI called in and they said it won't be available til right around 5pm.
ReplyDeleteAnd yet...I will still be checking.
ReplyDeleteAh, good luck yet again!
Finally, I am done with my final exams. Now, all I need is the decision from UVA and I am all set for the summer!
ReplyDeleteChuck, you are so lucky to be done already. Whatever the decision is, I have to forget about it after tonight until next Friday; I have to study for Spanish all weekend. Hope you did well on those exams!
ReplyDeleteNo wonder SIS has been acting up-- everyone keeps frantically checking their status! Go outside, go shopping, go read a book-- anything to pass the next 2 or so hours without nail-biting agony. The wait is excruciating for everyone, I'm sure, but as noted on the blog yesterday, all decisions will be posted by 5pm. Good luck everyone!

ReplyDeleteDo you think there's a higher chance of getting accepted as a transfer if you were accepted right out of high school?
ReplyDeletedefinitely not, i'm sure they're bitter about you declining their offer before. ;)
ReplyDeleteI know the agony of waiting tortures everyone. But calm down! The results have been there and however worried you are, it cannot be changed anyway.
ReplyDeleteGood Luck!
I don't know that it would really affect it. I think it means you're really competitive as an applicant, but this is a new pool of students. So you'd have a good chance but nothing for certain.
ReplyDeleteThank You so much Transfermer for all you have done. Admitted or not, UVA will always be the place for me -- and there will be no hard feelings in the end. Cannot wait until 5:00PM -- Best of luck to all!
ReplyDeleteThis is like the longest 3 hours of my life........
ReplyDeleteHey Transfermer!
ReplyDeleteI was reading old posts from last year (when I really should be studying) and I think I know who you are!!! I just want to say THANK YOU soooooo much for everything you do! I don't know how you balance your job AND keep up with this blog....you are amazing! I also want to thank you for meeting with me back in January (blonde girl with all those transfer credits and questions) and for putting up with my emails throughout this process. Thank you again for being so kind and caring to all of us transfers, you don't know how much we appreciate it! :)
KB
P.S. Teapot - I live in Poto as well. We may need to have a pity/and/or/congratulatory party around 5:01 pm....
Thank you for all your help along the way Transfermer. This entire process would have definitely been more confusing without the blog!
ReplyDeleteI just want to say, your blog left me a very strong impression. 'cause I'm sure that other colleges don't really communicate to applicants throughout the waiting period. UVa is very special, I guess. :]
ReplyDeleteThank you!
I agree, I think the problem with a lot of colleges is the limits on the help they provide to the unclear guidelines they sometimes make.. UVA has been quite good at keeping clear on things.
ReplyDeleteJMUVAer, haha, I'm going to the C-store shortly to buy icecream. :) Figure that either way, it can't hard. Are you on A or B side?
ReplyDeleteWow, when I wrote "hard" I definitely meant "hurt."
ReplyDeleteonly an hour and a half away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteTeapot - B
ReplyDeleteWow, me too! Did the pipe bursting effect your hall? I think it got all of them except maybe first...
ReplyDeleteactually it was my hall. lol to correct the story for the rest of the dorm -- a toilet was clogged in our bathroom and the man came to try to fix it and something went terribly wrong...needless to say it was a disaster. luckily they got it under control before it got to our doors! because that would have been really pretty.....
ReplyDeletedoes anyone else feel like they are going to be sick??
Haha, glad to have the full story. All I knew was that it was an upper floor and some girl came down our hall to say it was her hall and that it was almost in her room. Our ceiling was dripping and we know have to keep all doors and windows open in the hall. Nice and breezy now. Think you'll make it to the poto picnic?
ReplyDeleteAnd about the sick feeling...all day. Getting ice cream right now though...Should help. :)
Thanks for the kind words, transfermer.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what I'd do if I didn't get in this year. It's my second time applying and it's been such an emotional rollercoaster.
Thanks again for the great blog and all the effort put into it.
I am going crazy! This is the longest hour of my life!!!
ReplyDeletei wonder if they will be on time?
ReplyDeleteI'm just looking here to wait for the first comment, then I'll look. I'm supposed to be working, but....
ReplyDeletethis is crazy !!! why haven't they posted yet? God...enough is enough...waiting directly until 5? I was almost certain it would be sometime in the afternoon, hence the fact I've checked my status like a billion times since 8:00 AM
ReplyDeletetotally anxious! i second the fact that this too, is the longest hour of my life!
ReplyDeleteim not sure teapot. it all depends on the events surrounding 5 pm...lol
ReplyDeletei definitely have that awful sick feeling in the pit of my stomach... :/
ReplyDeletenot for me it isn't!
ReplyDeleteI have this vision of the admissions staff flipping a switch at 5 and then running for the doors. Good luck everyone!
ReplyDeleteJMUVAer,
ReplyDeleteI too feel sick. I feel like my stomach is churning and I'm gonna throw up or something. The worst part is I'm at work!!!! Ughh I have to wait to get home to view my decision.
We also want to appreciate your help and reviews of so many applications!
