Viewing Transcripts
Some of you may worry at the sight of your status page reading, "Received: No" We are in the thick of processing thousands of high school and college transcripts. They should be showing within the next two weeks. If not, you shouldn't fret too much. If we find that the transcript is missing at the time of review, we will contact you. It is likely that we'll contact you via email, so please check this at least once a day. Check your spamboxes as well! If you don't hear from us, all should be well.

I didn't see another blog post which would correspond to this question, so I'm posting it to the most recent entry hoping someone will see it. When looking at the main admissions blog, there is much discussion about the "likely letters" being sent by the admissions office. Is there anything similar sent to transfer applicants around this time? Thanks, Ben.
Thanks!! I was worried about that
I have 2 questions:
1. Are college grades any more or less important than high school grades?
2. My friends who were admitted into UVA heard a few days earlier than the date on the website. Is may 1st a set date or could we potentially hear earlier?
Ben,
We do not send likely letters. If all goes well with collecting materials, the first you'll hear from us is May 1 with decisions.
Mike,
1) There is no one way to define this. In general, the more college coursework you have, the less we'll look at your high school record. If you just graduated from high school, we're looking 50/50 at your high school record and college record.
2) The decision release date varies from year to year. It depends on the number of applications and the cycle here in the office. We make a promise that decisions will be out by May 1.
are any of the colleges any easier to get into than the others or is the acceptance rate about the same for all of them? also does the fact that the deadline was extended mean there are more or less applicants than usual or am i overanalyzing this?
Thanks,
Stephen
Stephen,
Even with the extension, we actually have a similar number of applicants compared to the last few years.
So I actually applied for transfer last year to UVA and sent UVa my final high school transcript. This year I have applied again and it is still showing up as "No" under my high school transcript, but "official" for my college transcript. Should I go ahead and try to get my high school to re-send the transcript?
Thank you,
Ryan
Ryan,
If you applied last year, your high school transcript is currently in our archive. Our file services department is currently going through the archives and will begin to re-process these applications next week.
Hello, Transfermer
How could I check whether recommendtaions I and my professor sent you are received or not? I only can check my high school and college transcripts through the web(though it still say not received).
Thank you very much.
Hey Kenneth -- if you login to your UVA application (http://applyonline.virginia.edu) and look at the "recommendations" link on the right-hand menu, it will list which recommendations have been returned. I believe you should also get a notification e-mail too. That's the way it worked with the recommendation that I requested.
Thanks ben minehart--I appreciate your comment--but my professors gave me recommendations in person, so I had to send them with my transcripts. Hope we can see each other at U.Va.
Yes, thanks for your help Ben!
Kenneth, unfortunately, we do not confirm paper recommendations. But, as you know we confirm(via your application) the arrival of your transcripts. Once you see that the transcript has arrived, you'll know we've received the recommendation(s) as well.
