It’s the first snow of the season here and the first delayed opening.  Since some of you may have a little extra time in your day today, why not share some stats from the Spring 2026 transfer application cycle?  What better to keep you warm on a snowy December morning then numbers - with a side of tea?!?🍵

Total applications: 619 

Total admits: 81 

Acceptance rate: 13% 

  

Total VA apps: 309 

Total VA admits: 61 

VA acceptance rate: 19.7% 

  

Total VCCS apps: 181 

Total VCCS admits: 42 

VCCS acceptance rate: 23.2% 

  

Total non-VA apps: 310 

Total non-VA admits: 20 

Non-VA acceptance rate: 6.5% 

 

Reminder: Spring transfer is only for the College of Arts and Sciences, and Guaranteed Admission does not apply to the spring term.

Spring 2026 Transfer Decisions

Hello, Hoos interested in UVA – 

 

It’s that time of year! *Said in my best Olaf voice⛄* Decisions for Spring 2026 transfer were released yesterday, Monday, December 1, at 5pm.  Please check your portal for more information and next steps.💻 

 

We know this is an important process for you.  Please know that we approach this work with a high level of responsibility to you and to our university.  Spring transfer is a significantly smaller number of spaces and is limited to the College of Arts and Sciences.  It is a competitive application cycle.  Best of luck, everyone!🤞

VACRAO Wrap-up Fall 2025 and VCCS Info Sessions

And that’s a wrap! VACRAO travel season is complete. Whew.😅 

Future Hoos – did you know that we travel around to Virginia community colleges throughout the year? It’s true! Not only by request from local community colleges, but also through VACRAO – the Virginia Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers – which hosts college fairs at community colleges across the state. 

 

UVA representatives from the Office of Undergraduate Admission (OUA) and Community College Partnerships (CCP) travel and meet hundreds of students interested in transferring to UVA. Sometimes we’re set up at tables at fairs, sometimes you’ll see us joining classes to talk with students, and sometimes we’re part of panels where students can ask questions about the transfer process and life at UVA. 

 

Make sure to follow your local community college’s social media for event information and check out their event calendars for dates we’ll be visiting in the spring. Always remember: your community college advising unit is a great resource for events and information. 

 

If we’ve already met during this past travel season – thank you so much for coming out! If you’re planning on meeting us in spring – we look forward to seeing you! 

 

If you’re a Virginia Community College System (VCCS) student with a last-minute question and don’t want to wait until spring – we’ve got something for you!  CCP and OUA are hosting three virtual information sessions throughout the rest of the year with two of our transfer team members: Alena Mackay-Smith, our Virginia Community College Student Financial Aid Coordinator, and Quana Dennis, our Transfer Admission Counselor. These are registered events, so if you’re interested in attending, please sign up through the links at the bottom of the CCP webpage (linked above😉).
