Wait List Update #2

Adam beat me to it. The time has come. We are making offers from the wait list today. These students will be emailed. We've offered to about 50 students. Most are Virginians because we were lacking in that area. Some from Commerce, but most have come from the College of Arts and Sciences. This is our first "wave" with the wait list. We may offer to more, we may not offer to more. But, I will announce it here when everything is closed. This will likely be at the end of the month, but only time will tell. I'll update when I have more information.

  1. I posted this to the last blog post, but I figured it's worth putting it here since most of you probably won't check the old one now

I just got accepted into the Commerce school from wait-list!!!!!!! I'm so stoked right now! Congrats to anyone else who's been accepted. To those of you still waiting: don't lose hope, you just might get that e-mail too! Heck, Transfermer said that the yield rate for Commerce was almost spot on and I got in anyway. So if it can happen for me, it can happen for you! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and hopefully I'll see you guys on the grounds this fall! :-)

Transfermer: As always, thank you for all your help through this crazy process!

  2. I filled out a transcript request as soon as Spring semester ended. Unfortunately, it turns out my school hasn't even sent it to UVA yet! I got straight As too! Is there anything I can possibly do about this? I'm sure these grades would have really helped my chances. It just turns out they're a bit late due to forces outside of my control. I'm sure they'll get there eventually, at least by the end of this month at this rate...Let me know!

  4. I JUST GOT INTO THE SCHOOL OF ARTS AND SCIENCES!!!!!I am happy beyond belief. Thank you so much, transformer, for your timely updates and information regarding this entire process. Once again, words cannot even begin to describe the appreciation I have for all of the people who wrote me heartfelt recommendations to the office of admissions. I almost lost hope after finding out that I was waitlisted, but persistence and dedication payed off for me, as I am sure they will, for others that were waitlisted.

  9. ACCEPTED!!!!! I've been searching for the facebook page in order to find a roommate, but I can't find it. Does anyone know of any type of website where I can somehow find a roommate? I'm an upcoming sophomore and I'd like to live on campus next year

    -Thanks!

  12. There's a facebook page for all incoming transfers, and YayforUVA, uloop.com is a great site for college students. Use your UVA email to register and you can find apartments, roommates, books, and more.

  13. Transfermer, you made no mention of the Nursing School in your last post. Were any offers made? If so, how many? If not, is the SON now closed to wait list applicants? Please clarify.

  14. During the application process I was under the impression that I wanted to pursue engineering so I applied to the E-school. In the past few months I have decided I would like to change majors. This was an issue I was going to address if accepted, but you mentioned that the chances of getting off the waitlist as an engineering student are slim. Should I write a letter to the admissions office discussing my desire for consideration into the school of arts and sciences?
