As many of you have discovered, things are moving here in our office. We are working to offer to about 40 students from the wait list in Arts and Sciences and the Engineering School. This includes the students who stumbled upon their decisions last night.
There is a process for this, and the emails are on a delay. These should hit tomorrow afternoon.
We had an overwhelming response to our offers back on April 27th and that explains why we offered to fewer this year on the wait list. All wait lists are still open, and we are far from shutting anything down. We will let you know here if we decide to make more offers.
Please do not call our office looking for a decision. We do not give out decisions over the phone or over email. Once again, students who have been offered admission at this time should receive an email by tomorrow evening. As a reminder, we only send emails to the addresses you put on your application, so be sure to check there.
Wow.....

DeleteNo the post clearly says the rest of the offers go out tomorrow.
DeleteMy apologies, I think I processed it as emails coming tomorrow, independent of offer status on SIS— wasn’t sure if they’re supposed to be linked to one another. Either way, I’m sorry for the confusion. ^_^;
DeleteIs there any update for McIntire waitlisted applicants?
ReplyDeleteCan't wait
ReplyDeleteStill waiting
ReplyDeleteI really need an answer to this so i can manage my expectations.
ReplyDeleteIf you're getting the email tonight, does that mean you should be able to see your decision in your SIS as of NOW?
PLEASE clarify
No there was one person who was accepted this morning actually. People are still getting offers
DeleteWell I didn't apply to any other school cause I applied under Guaranteed admission, I was hoping that I would get in Because i met all the requirement. then I was wait-listed. And now i'm eating myself out at work. </3
ReplyDeleteGood luck everyone...
I’m so nervous

ReplyDeleteI've been refreshing my Email, SIS, and transfer blog every 30 mins, my heart beat at 120 and I HAVE A ABDOMINAL PAIN. I Passed beyond Nervous. I'm worried because I had two Cs,2As, and 1B this semester. It was really hard one because my grandma had a heart Attack and she had to do surgery and I had to be with her in the hospital for two months April and may and that was during finals. as well as me working 48 hrs a week during weekends. I had to take an hr break from work on Sundays to go to UVA TA's office hours. My Cs were in the Engineering classes; it was major classes. I took all the required classes for the second year at UVA so that when I transfer as a third year, I'll only take the third year classes. I hope they take that in consideration.
ReplyDeleteAnyone get an email yet? Even the people who were accepted the other day?
ReplyDeleteNope! Though I’m not sure I’m getting one since I accepted and paid, which can disrupt email delivery (according to previous posts).
DeleteNot Yet...

ReplyDeleteLet’s not get mad! I am patiently waiting. I’m sure the email has not come yet and is on a lag. Transformer said by evening. It’s not evening. And she said “should”. No one on college confidential got an email yet, nor did Juliana. There’s probably a lag in the system.i am patiently waiting, knowing it will come.
ReplyDeleteYou are right, it's not easy. they are trying their best to be fair to everyone. the Blog said around the afternoon, and they changed to evening. because I think they are working on it. Sometime the computers doesn't work too when we need them. it's been a long day for me, but I will continue to wait. I can't go to other schools my grandma here, my work here and my school has to be here. :/ I'll just keep my fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteGood luck everyone.
Goodluck to you as well. Keep us posted. I’ll update back in 1.5 hours or so. I hope you do the same.
Delete8:00 pm is when I call it quits
ReplyDeletedon't give up, everything is possible. IT's early to give up yet.
ReplyDeleteIt's over. Perfect stats and no offer. Such horse crap
ReplyDeleteHas anyone who applied to CAS heard yet?
ReplyDeleteLike 1 person on CC found out. No one else
ReplyDeleteSo why did you say "It's over. Perfect stats and no offer. Such horse crap" if nobody has heard yet?
ReplyDeleteBecause today was a wave. Maybe other people who don't participate on forums have gotten in. It is definitely over.
DeleteNo lol you would hear from others if they did
ReplyDeleteNo email. What is happening? I didn’t even hear about anyone getting in... wouldn’t a COUPLE people post on CC or here if they got an email.
ReplyDeleteSo NO ONE in the community got an email? Like come on!!
By the way, the Dean is watching this thread. I just got banned haha!
ReplyDeleteMaybe she meant Monday? It's strange to have a decision come out on a Saturday anyways and even weirder for it to come after 8:30
ReplyDelete@Nuna Hussein you applied under the GAA? If you met every requirement I don't think you would be waitlisted.. are you missing any of the requirements? Have you ever had a D on your transcript? THat's concerning.
ReplyDeleteThis is odd. No decision is coming at 9:30 on a Saturday. I'm calling it a night.
ReplyDeleteI have two associate degrees; general science and Engineering. I checked all the requirements with my adviser. when i was in community college, I didn't have any Cs or Ds I had only As and 4 Bs. I was mostly in the Dean's list. and i'm wait listed. I think my problem is that I tried to finish second year required classes for my major, that's when I got Cs. I was full time student and I worked full time plus 8 more hrs over time when I had to. I take care of my grandma as well, but she got sick this year. that said, that's why I had Cs I had to balance, but I was determined to Pass and I did. The problem if I don't get in, I'll be wasting a whole year because I was too confident that I will get in. and in addition to that I can't leave my grandma or my work. so UVA is my only option. I hope they realize that when they make decision :'(
ReplyDeleteYeah I have no idea what is going on.
ReplyDeleteHey guys - I've been checking this blog and CC every day just like so many of you, and probably the only thing we can really do at this point is keep waiting. Transfermer said in the post that they have a process, so if we really do love UVA, we just have to keep waiting for that email or for that day when we check SIS and our status has changed. That could be any day or any minute now, so keep your hopes up! Fingers crossed for all of us. I know this isn't exactly what you wanted to read, but hopefully it helps us sleep just a little better tonight!!
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's all we can do.
ReplyDeleteGood night everyone. I hope we hear good news in the morning.
Hopefully. Very sloppy of the dean to not clarify this post, but to rather ban other people's accounts...
ReplyDelete123ddda, that’s uncalled for. As with all posts, the dean has the right to delete any inappropriate commentary. As for clarification, there may have been some things that could’ve been improved, but they said offers would be up tonight. There are hundreds of waitlisted applicants and 40 or so (per college?) who were accepted— statistically, it’s likely that a good chunk of those offered admission aren’t active or would rather not post. Given the toxicity of this thread, I don’t blame them.
ReplyDeleteThe admissions team is working very hard. Frustration is one thing, but it’s another to take it out on the dean. They have their reasons, there is a process.
Frankly, if all you want to post is inappropriate and rude commentary, then I understand why they had banned you in the first place.
Sorry for this post, everyone. Some are getting on my nerves, and this kind of negativity is not helping anyone.
Transfermer, we truly appreciate you. We appreciate the admissions team— and thank you for considering us all. If you find this inappropriate, please feel free to remove it.
@nuna hussein there might be an exception like you aren't allowed to have two associate's or something that made you ineligible for the GAA. If you really did meet ALL the requirements of the GAA you would not have been waitlisted. Do you have the foreign language requirement completed?
ReplyDeleteLet’s not blame be Dean’s. They’re great people and they try their bests. I’m VERY thankful for them. Not sure what happened today, I’m convinced no email ever came to ANYONE. But I think I am in denial. I’m checking SIS one last time and calling it a night. 1:25 AM here!
DeleteNo you are correct. Only 1 person has come out so far from engineering that she got a SIS update. She didn't get an email either. Considering CAS are the bulk of the offers, no one has come out yet.
DeleteIdK, there has to be something. also, there is a clause in the agreement state that the only reason they won't accept a student under GAA is if they don't have a space. so that might be it. idk
ReplyDeleteWe're all in denial right now. The wave is done and there might be minor movement 1 more time.
ReplyDelete-No one has been banned. There was a momentary mistake that allowed only google users to comment. This has been corrected.
ReplyDelete-All decisions for students admitted to the wait list have been changed in SIS.
-There was an unforeseen problem with the emails. This will be addressed tomorrow, when our office is open during normal business hours.
Does that mean you guys are not accepting anymore students?
ReplyDeleteProbably just a handful more for those who do not accept their wait list offer. Pretty upset no offer and that of course the one year I apply the waitlist gets cut in half. Go figure.
ReplyDeleteI wish they would update the SIS to tell those who did not get accepted as well.
As we said in the initial post, all wait lists are still open. The comment above pertains to the small number of decisions made in SIS last week.
ReplyDeleteThis blog will announce when we have stopped offering to students. We will use the word "closed" in our statement. This is not that time.
Okay thank you Transfermer for updating us, we will be patiently waiting. WE really love UVA, it's more than school to us <3.
ReplyDeleteI really appreciate you taking time to answer us.
How many more offers do you envision handing out? Just a handful or 10+?
ReplyDeleteHey Transfermer,
ReplyDeleteI already emailed the undergraduate admissions, but can I retract my decision of being taken off the waitlist? I didn’t do it on purpose and as I was clicking on my screen on my phone while waiting for the page to load, I accidentally clicked the “I don’t want to be on the waitlist” option. UVA is my dream school I really don’t want to lose my opportunity due to this mishap.
I've gotten 4.0 GPA for the spring semester, and I've sent several letters to show my continued interest. Even though I was not selected by this first wave, I‘ll still keep hoping. As Transfermer said, "All wait lists are still open."
ReplyDeleteNever give up!
Good luck to everyone!
Anonymous, what a ridiculous thing to ask almost 27 days after the deadline of choosing you want to remain on the waitlist.
ReplyDeleteThis happened yesterday while trying to check my profile. How is that ridiculous?

ReplyDeleteYeah but how many spots do you think will be open realistically? Transfermer says it's not closed but that means what like 5 more offers will be sent out lol?
ReplyDelete@Anonymous "Stupid fucking asians from this blog getting accepted" I got one B this semester at a CC (mind you, the only B i've gotten in a LONG TIME), and am an Asian coming in for my 3rd year.
ReplyDeleteI'd be careful with what I say on this blog, because if you're the same person that accidentally declined being on the waitlist it'll be very easy for admissions to put together that you're not someone they'd want at UVA - and they can very very easily identify you now. Your reaction is hateful. Why'd I get a B? I was working full time at a F500 doing corporate finance and strategy, as the only sophomore - and only student not at UMD/GWU/UVA/VT that got an internship there to begin with, I do regret that this prevented me from spending enough time to get ALL A's but what I learned as an individual both professionally and spiritually was worth it.. it's not all about your grades, and your ethnic background doesn't define who you are or what you're capable of or what you SHOULD be.
Regardless, i'm sorry it didn't work out for you - and hopefully you can channel that hatred/anger into understanding and move forward/grow from this - because hateful people that speak such distasteful things are unwanted at UVA.
best,
gs
It's quite ambiguous. Transfermer mentioned how a "small number of decisions" were sent out through sis. 40 offers is already quite small, and he/she called it a small number in relation to that as well. I believe there will be a mini wave, where they didn't send out every offer yesterday. On top of that, not everyone will elect to stay on the waitlist too. I can easily see maybe 10+ people making it off.
ReplyDeleteI hope we can all get along guys. We're all frustrated, but being rude and hateful is definitely not the answer.
ReplyDeleteTo make matters worse, comments like that reflect poorly on all of us still on the waitlist. So it is really frustrating someone is choosing to represent us like that. Really poor taste.
With that said, I am hopeful that person is right saying 10+ people can make it off.
Best
Is there a way to see your position on the weight list?
ReplyDeleteYes I agree with the user above. The Dean specifically mentioned "small number of decisions on sis sent out last week." I'm sure we can expect quite a few maybe 10-15 to get accepted. Of course this is for everyone and not limited to this forum. Only a couple in here will get lucky and get in and that too with top spring grades...
ReplyDelete@peter vecsey the waitlist is not ranked.
ReplyDeleteMy brother got off the waitlist last year with a 3.9, then a 4.0 GPA for spring. Nervous I won't get in because my spring grades suck. Looks like it really is all about the GPA unless you're a junior :( Well there's always hope since waitlist is still open
ReplyDelete**To be clear, we do not block commenters, but we will delete offensive commentary. That has been done above.**
ReplyDelete***We have fixed the email issue. Students who were offered late last week and had not yet deposited by last night were emailed. There was no need to email students who had already deposited.***
Peter Vecsey,
We don't know how many more offers we will make. The wait list is not ranked.
James,
We are looking for good grades from both rising sophomores and juniors.
Anonymous who posted at 3:45 on June 10th,
ReplyDeletePlease make up an alias next time. We can put you back on the wait list. You did the right thing by emailing us.
Transfermer,
ReplyDeleteFrom my understanding, the Comm school's waitlist is finalized the 3rd week of June. Is that correct? Are there any updates you are able to share at this time when it comes to McIntire?
Thank you sincerely!
So basically the only other offers left are the ones for if people decline their offer?
ReplyDeleteWhen will more offers be extended? A week? A few days?
ReplyDelete
