Offering from the Wait List

In early June, we made offers to a few nursing applicants and some students in the engineering school.  Today, we will make the bulk of our offers in the College of Arts and Sciences, Engineering, Architecture and Batten.  We'll offer to about 80.  Most are in the College.

These decisions are announced through email, so check the email account you noted on your application. Check your junk mail too.  The decision will be posted on your SIS self-service page and that is where you'll pay your deposit.  In order to keep the process moving, you will have a short window to deposit.  Your email will give specific details. In addition, an offer letter will be sent via snail mail.

If you need an extension on your deposit deadline because you need to know your financial aid situation before you deposit, please reply to the email you received. We will not give you an extension if you did not submit the FAFSA and CSS Profile by the deadline of April 1.

Please stay tuned for further updates.

  3. I have not received an email yet and my SIS page still says I am on the waitlist -- when can I expect a change? It does have today's date at the top, so is it possible to be waitlisted again?

  4. @colemanhopkins yes if your SIS page hasn't changed then you are still on the waitlist. This is the first wave of offers.
Transfermer, I was wondering when the next wave of offers will be sent? Can we expect it to be sometime this week or next week?

  5. My SIS status changed, however I never recieved an email with any information. When should I expect to get an email? Do I need to contact the admissions office?

  6. Does anyone else have "accept admission" on the tab that their wait list letter is on?

  7. Are there still spots open for nursing?

LM, I have that on the tab of my waitlist letter too, but I don't think it means anything.

  10. We apologize for the confusion surrounding decisions. Some decisions were released Thursday, June 11th and some were released Friday, June 12th. It takes one day for emails to hit, so emails went out on Friday, June 12th, and Saturday, June 13th respectively. If you paid or indicated intent to deposit before you got your email, you would have interrupted the process and therefore you shouldn’t have received the email. The email was more for people who aren’t reading this blog or checking SIS every hour :) It pointed them to SIS.

    To answer your questions:
At this time, no wait lists have been closed, but we are getting there.

Non Barg, thank you for explaining the situation to Coleman. Next week, we will take a look to see if we need a second wave. That’s after we see how many have deposited since they were offered admission last Thursday and Friday. No decisions will be released this week.

    Audrey Nerette,
You are still on the wait list. This was just an informational piece sent out by our engineering school.

    Sweet Briar,
You should also receive an offer letter in the mail. Most other correspondence will come through email. It’s very important that you check your email accounts often.

  12. My situation is that my school ended all finals at June 16th, and I sent my transcript at June 19th. Does that mean I miss the first wave?

  14. Hi, Proud Parent here, when does the wait list formally closed? My daughter is so convinced that she is getting in that she has pretty much started living in C-ville already. She refuses to believe that she isnt getting in and will not pull the trigger on her back up school for her pre-med.

  15. The yield (number of offers who say yes) on our wait list offers was much higher than expected. This means that we have just about hit our targets. We made two offers to the College of Arts and Sciences last week. All of this means the wait list will soon be closing. You will be notified via email when this happens. We will make a note on the blog as well. The wait list can be so unpredictable that we caution against depending upon it or giving up on other great offers. Next month, for those still Interested, we'll discuss course planning ahead of a future application. For others, you might be moving on, and we can't thank you enough for the time and attention you have given the blog.
