Spring 2015 Transfer Decisions

All transfer decisions will be posted online this evening by 5PM EST.  Remember that you have to consult your SIS account to get your decision. You'll find information about this in your UVa confirmation email. We will post all decisions online, but we will only be mailing letters to admitted students.  A student is either offered or not offered.  There is no wait list process for spring admission.

Do not call the office to ask for your decision.  We do not give out decisions over the phone. To get to your account, go here and click on the "SIS Login."   If you don't remember your account information, check your confirmation, then seek out the help information on the left-hand side of that same page.
About 13% of applicants were admitted. We had an increase of about 50 apps this year. If you were not admitted, you might have the opportunity to "roll over" your application for fall 2015 consideration.  Please follow the directions in your online letter.  NOTE: This option is not available for students who are entering their sixth semester at a four-year institution (this is not a community college) next spring.  Unfortunately, these students are no longer eligible to come to UVa.

  2. Very excited to be accepted. Awaiting the financial aid package, which I assume will be sent in the packets, along with a credit evaluation?

Will there be a good time to visit campus in the next 15 days?

  3. What was the average admitted student GPA?

  4. Seeing the accepted people's stats on College confidential, It seems everyone who got in had above a 3.85. Seems like nobody who had less than a 3.8 got in... I had a 3.6 coming from a well known school.

  5. DJ,
Financial aid can only be viewed online. I'm told it will be available in the next day or so. Please keep an eye on your to-do list in case SFS is in need of more information.

    Rejected,
I'm sorry to hear you were not admitted. We don't have data on averages, but these students tend to be very strong.

    Also rejected,
Yes, you can see that these students were competitive, but it's not just about one's college GPA. We are looking at coursework, success in high school, essays and testing. If you are planning to apply again, please make sure you've signed up for courses that will fit our pre-reqs - you can find them here -http://www.admission.virginia.edu/transfer/artsandscience

  6. I did not get admitted either. I am a sophomore now and i applied for pre-commerce in Arts and Science. But i kinda change my mind now. After a year and a half in college. I feel like ECON major is a fit for me. So i wanna apply for econ major in fall. So i think i need to make some changes to my essay. Can I make changes to my essay if I choose to roll over?

Hey Transformer, unfortunately, I did not get in again. BUT I will try again for the last time in the fall.

I had the same question as JJ. I am going to do the roll-over process and I was wondering, If I would like to change/add things in my application, how would I go about this?

    Your advice is always appreciated.

  8. Transferring to UVA???

My roommates and I are looking for a 4th roommate for the months of January - June of 2014 (2015 UVA Spring Semester).

We're in the Venable apartments off of 14th Street - 5 min walk from campus grounds. The apartment is a four bedroom two bath apartment, with each roommate having their own bedroom and sharing a bathroom with another roommate. Right now the entire apartment is fully furnished. Within our individual apartment we have a laundry closet that includes both a fully functional washer and dryer so you don't have to leave the apartment to do laundry. We also have a fully stocked kitchen with a full scale fridge, dishwasher, oven, microwave, and garbage disposal. We have a furnished balcony off of our apartment and even though we are on the first floor of the building the balcony overhangs high enough for safety benefits. The apartment complex has garbage removal and provides snow removal.

The rent is paid monthly and the lease for the spring semester would go from January through June. The rent itself is $660 a month, INCLUDING ALL EXPENSES (high-speed wifi and ethernet internet access, electricity, water, our parking space, and all other utilities). You also would not have to worry about paying any sort of security/safety deposit.

  10. JJ,
If you wanT to apply for econ, please email the individual in your online letter. You may send a new essay. HopeLee, if you want to add anything, just write to undergradadmission@virginia.edu

    Sana asif,
I’m sorry, but we don’t have short courses for credit online. You can search for our non-credit offerings in Coursera if that might interest you.

  12. I applied to Iva last year and didn't have a 3.8. It's not all about the GPA, for such a prestigious school you need to be very well-rounded as they look at a lot of things. I wish I had chosen to go here instead of my school now. Go wahoo's!
