Well, summer is far from over, but the CA people have been hard at work preparing to launch this year's application. It went live last Friday. As transfers, you have the first deadline. That would be October 1, 2014. If you are interested in applying to the College of Arts and Sciences, the Urban Planning program and the Architectural History, program, then you can apply at this time. Remember that to be an eligible transfer, you must be going into at least your second year or second semester of college this fall. If you graduated high school this past school year, you are not eligible and must wait for the fall semester deadline of March 1. AP, IB scores nor dual enrollment will make you a transfer at this time.
If you are in a bachelor's degree seeking program and you are a rising junior applying to the College of Arts and Sciences, this is your last chance to apply. After the fall semester, you will be ineligible.
To start your common application, go to www.commonapp.org.
Note: If you created an account last year, you'll need to create a new one for the 2014-2015 school year.
What is the financial aid deadline for Spring transfer?
ReplyDeleteGood question. It is also October 1.
ReplyDeleteWhat would my deadline be if I am going into my freshman year of college and am hoping to transfer to UVA for my sophomore year?
ReplyDeleteis the October 1st Deadline for students trying to transfer in the Fall of 2015?
ReplyDeleteFor transferring in the spring, are fall 2014 grades considered? I am asking because the tentative release for admissions in Dec 1 and that seems to be sooner than when final grades are released.
ReplyDeleteUnknown,
ReplyDeleteThe deadline is March 1, 2015. Please check out our website - www.admission.virginia.edu/admission
John McGinn,
No, it's March 1, 2015.
M,
No, we don't wait for grades for the semester in which you are applying. You may look for a mid-semester report form on the common app and you can send that to us, but it is not considered official. It does however, give us an idea of how you're doing.
If someone had been accepted to UVA but did not enroll, and now, this person would like to enroll at UVA for next Fall, is the process one that is the same as if this is the first time?
ReplyDeleteWould the reviewing admissions officer access the old common app, essay, etc.?
Thank you.
If my AP credits cover many of the course requirements needed as a transfer student and my current college accepts those credits, should I still take those courses to fill the requirement or should I wait, take other courses I don't have credits for, and get AP credits once or if I get into UVA?
