This weekend, we will offer to about 70 students from the wait lists for the College, Engineering and Architecture. No word yet on Nursing or Commerce.
These decisions are announced through email, so check the email account you noted on your application. Check your junk mail too. The decision will be posted on your SIS self-service page and that is where you'll pay your deposit. In order to keep the process moving, you will have 48 hours to deposit.
Good luck!
UPDATE ON 6/14/14:
The emails went out Friday evening. There will be no more emails this weekend. Historically, there have a couple of waves of decisions. I can’t promise there will be another, but let’s hope so.
If you need an extension on your deposit deadline because you
need to know your financial aid situation before you deposit, please reply to
the email you received. We will not give you an extension if you did not submit
the FAFSA and CSS Profile by the deadline of April 1.
Student Financial Services was notified of your new
decisions on Friday. They will now work to get you your awards out as soon as
possible. If they have posted items on
your to-do list, please see to them straight away. We want to wrap this up quickly, but
appropriate financial aid awards can sometimes take weeks.
Thank you for the update! Hopefully Commerce decisions follow in the near future!
ReplyDeleteI'm crying right now! Thank you so much for the update! I'm so excited to attend UVa in the fall! Best of luck to everyone, I know you are all wonderful people whatever happens!
ReplyDeleteYou mentioned before that 60-70 would enter from A&S and that this weekend 70 some are becoming accepted. Is that 70 per group or is it 60ish A&S with roughly 10 spots between Engineering and Architecture?
ReplyDeleteWell, I really hope you read this before the first Sunday deadline. This is a profoundly mixed blessing. I am elated to be accepted to the university, but I'm unable to accept right away because I've already accepted at another school and don't know what I've already committed financially there. I really hope to contact them and figure that out, but they, like most schools, are not open on weekends so I'd have to call monday morning - about 9 hours past the deadline I've received (11:59PM Sunday). Is there any way I could please receive a 1- or 2-day extension on this deadline? I feel like my hands are tied here and I would just about die if I cam this close and got my hopes killed by deadlines.
ReplyDeleteThanks very much.
Has anyone gotten an email yet or noticed an SIS change? This is going to be a long weekend...
ReplyDeleteI get having a Friday release for first round when you had two weeks to respond. But it's completely unreasonable to make it for waitlisted students and make them reply over the weekend! We literally have no way to ask questions because all offices are closed.
ReplyDeleteHey is anyone having trouble viewing their financial aid? Mine just says "Inquiry access denied" every time I go to look at it. What does this mean? Have I not been awarded anything or is my package jut not ready to view yet?
ReplyDeleteJake,
ReplyDeleteI get the same thing when I go to view my financial aid. I did notice there are a lot of tax forms and the like to submit in my to do list. I think the packages are just not ready yet.
Jake and Kitty:
ReplyDeleteI have lots of forms on my to-do as well but I know for sure, 100%, I submitted everything on time! This is so confusing! It's so fustrating how they only give us the weekend because then we can't call anyone!!
Does anyone know if students accepted off the waitlist are still guaranteed housing??
ReplyDeleteIf the acceptance deadline is 11:59 PM Sunday (according to one poster), I am assuming that those 70 accepted were all notified Friday evening and if your SIS still says Waitlist that you (as does my daughter's SIS) are likely at the end of the road. On the off chance that a few people decline due to finances or not getting back in the 48 hours then one or two more might be chosen. I am sad for our family/daughter but send congratulations to those accepted.
ReplyDeleteDon't give up yet, this is just the first wave, thus the quick (48 hr) request for decisions! Elsewhere admissions said the process could go into let June.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone gotten off the waitlist?
ReplyDeleteKyz,
ReplyDeleteHistorically, 60-80 students are taken from the wait list across all schools. Yesterday, it was about 70 from the three schools I mentioned. 426 students across all schools accepted their spots on the wait list. I'm not sure any further details would change the situation.
Will and Deadline,
You can reply to the email you received about this, but we will only give extensions for financial aid awards from our side.
Housing12,
We do not guarantee housing for any transfers, but it is my understanding that there are still spots available. 72 hours after you deposit, you’ll begin to receive additional information from various offices around Grounds. If you are interested in on-grounds housing, you should apply as soon as you receive the application.
Optimistic Anonymi,
I am glad you posted.
WaitingandHopeful,
Your fellow readers and concerned posters above have been offered from the wait list.
If we accept without knowing the financial aid, can we sill get financial aid later on before August?
ReplyDeleteHi Transfermer. I'm confused because I definitely sent in FAFSA AND CSS Profile well ahead of the deadline yet I still have items in my to-do list. Does this mean I won't get an extension? I definitely sent everything in and got confirmations from each of those companies.
ReplyDeleteIf we are applying as 3rd years, do we come in with the major we applied with? I know first years are technically all undecided until they apply for their major. Or do we have to do an additional application to get into our program? Thanks a bunch!
ReplyDeleteHi Transfermer, does this mean the wait list is officially closed? As in the admissions committee is finished admitting students on the wait list? Or will there be a second wave?
ReplyDeleteI just got off the wait list and paid my deposit. However, after doing so, a notice to submit official final transcript showed up in my to-do list. How is that so when I needed the final official transcript to even be considered taken off the wait list?
ReplyDeleteAs a student accepted off the wait list who needs to see my financial aid in order to make a decision I am unsure if I should deposit to save my spot in the class, or wait to find out what my financial aid package is? I have replied to the acceptance email as well as emailing the financial aid office, but I want to make sure that waiting to deposit past the deadline will not jeopardize my spot in the class? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThank you Transfermer for all of your posts. They have been helpful in this anxious time. I was wondering if there might be a new update today on the process. Is every spot now filled, or, will be another wave of good news emails sent out? Thank you :-)
