As we get closer to May 1, we wanted to wish you all good luck towards the end of your semester. Classes will be ending soon and exams will be the final caps on this term for you. Keep those grades up, or work hard to improve your grades if there's room to do so. It is extremely important for everyone to do this -no matter your admissions decision. As I've said in some comments, it is not looking like we'll release this Friday, but we will be done by May 1.
Hi,
ReplyDeleteI have a question that my TOEFL score just been updated a little late, maybe around April 10th. So will my application be influenced?
Thank you !
I am so anxious/excited for the decision release! Is there still a possible chance that the decisions will be released on the earlier date or is that 100% not a possibility? Please say that there is still a slight chance they will be released earlier!
ReplyDeleteHi
ReplyDeleteCan i know what was your Toefl score.
Mine was 92
Anon,
ReplyDeleteWe can't promise that the new score will be a part of your decision.
benji,
As I've said, it won't be this Friday, and it will be by May 1.
Anon,
Please do not ask for personal information on the blog. Thanks!
Thanks for answering and the clarification! Another seven days wont hurt.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI checked on the applicant center and my view decision button is clickable. But when clicked, it just tells me that the decision is unavailable until May 1st. Is there an approximate time for the release because some schools require us to enroll by May 1st. I would really love to be able to decide if accepted!
Is there any way to find out the decision before the letter arrives in the mail? We have to make a deposit for my daughter's second choice school by May 1. We can make it online, but if we find out about her UVA admission on May 2, we are in a bind.
ReplyDeleteYAYAYAYAYAYYAYAYAYAYYYYY! I AM SO EXCITED. LOVE YOU DEAN J THANKS!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi there! How many transfer applicants did UVA receive? How many of those accepted will be out of state students?
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteWhile we are waiting for the decisions, can you tell us a little bit about the admission process and how everything works at the Peabody Hall. I mean can you go to the details?
For example, I can't understand why there is no difference bw a rising 2nd and a 3rd year student from your perspective (diff. yrs & diff avail. spots).
Also when it comes to the admission committee, Dean J and his colleague might reject an applicant while the other faculty members might accept it. I mean people are different and there are a lot of factors that would affect the final decision. Can I say it depends who is going to read your application?
Im sure each of them know who to accept and not to accept.
ReplyDeletehigh end drama. Dices in their hands. Just playing on students carrier
ReplyDeleteDon and Mary Ann,
ReplyDeleteI am so happy to know I am not the only with this problem right now. It is such a stressor that you can only imagine if you are put in the situation.
Good luck to you Don and to your daughter Mary Ann.
My brother was in this situation but unfortunately he had to choose by april 30th:(
DeleteHi, If you apply to a specific school are you also automatically considered for the College of Arts & Sciences as well?
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteWhat time should we expect to see admission decisions posted on May 1st?
Hello,
ReplyDeleteAny chance decisions are released today?
lol DeanJ I appreciate all that you and the Admissions office do and are doing. People...we need to be patient. The admissions office has a very difficult job to do, a busy job to do and I understand everyone is excited to get a decision...I am too being a transfer myself...but let's give these folks some room to breathe. We will know soon enough. :) I mean no disrespect when I post this...patients is a virtue.
ReplyDeleteFor all of you looking to gather in one place through this transfer process, I have created a Facebook group where we can all express excitement, commiserate, or provide insight on housing opportunities.
ReplyDeleteLike the page, and comment anything you feel would be helpful to others!

Any chance of notification today, in an attempt to avoid weather related technical difficulties? :)
ReplyDeleteJust one more day!! I wish everyone the best of luck on their decisions. I am quite anxious yet excited!
ReplyDeleteAnyone received their financial aid package yet? Nothing has shown up in my to-do-list from them and still haven't gotten awarded.
ReplyDeleteTime for my destiny!!!!!Wish all good luck!!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck everyone, if accepted you guys will be seeing me at every home basketball game! Go wahoos!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know what time the decision is supposed to be released? I am trying to decide whether I should stay up until midnight to see, or if it won't be until later on May 1.
ReplyDeleteKevin,
ReplyDeleteMy guess is that if they haven't released a decision by 5/6 tonight, you won't see one at least until 9 or so tomorrow, 5/6 at the latest. I would assume their offices close at 5 so the release would be sometime around then either today or tomorrow.
To all asking about the time that the decisions will be released: historically, UVA releases decisions at 5 PM, so that would be my best guess as to when they will release the decisions tomorrow, May 1st.
