Remember that in order to fully submit your application, you will need to submit three parts.
That's 1) The Basic App, 2) The Application Supplement and 3) $60 application fee. After all of that is submitted, you should receive and email from us (UVA) that includes information about your Student Information System Account.
Do we need to submit SAT/AP scores (separately through CollegeBoard) as well?
ReplyDeleteI sent in all three parts in january like pretty early. but i haven't recieved an email from UVA about the SIS account. Should i wait? I don't know who to email.
ReplyDeleteI have a question about the Supplement to the Common Application. I am an international transfer, do I need to fill out the Application For Virginia In-State Educational Privileges form?
ReplyDeleteThank you!!
About the school form, does the Instructor Evaluation form need to be mailed by my instructor? or it is included in my supplement materials which will be sent by myself?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
If I'm transferring in as a third-year coming from a four-year university as a business major, should I apply to the School of Commerce? I'm not positive if all my credits will transfer so would it be smart to apply to the School of Arts and Sciences? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely subject line for your post. Props to you Transfermer!
ReplyDeleteHi Amanda, SAT scores can be sent 1) through the college board, 2) we’ll accept them if they are on your high school transcript, and 3) you can fax or emailed a scanned copy of the official score report
ReplyDeleteKrista,
You should check your spam folder and if you don’t see anything there, you can contact us at undergradadmission@virginia.edu
ZY,
No. You are an international student, so you can’t fill it out. Same goes for all other non-residents of Virginia. The instructor evaluation can be mailed by you (sealed in an envelope) or by your teacher.
Ryan,
Our only business program is in the McIntire School of Commerce. You might check to see if you have all of the requirements. These can be found on our transfer website. Four semesters of foreign language seems to be the biggest hang-up for applicants.
Thank you Olive!
Where can I find the teacher evaluation sheet? I didn't realize that I needed to do this.
ReplyDeleteIs it OK to either fax or scan and email a completed instructor evaluation
ReplyDeleteMay I send the Instructor Evaluation Form after March 1st? Or is it due along with the application and supplement?
ReplyDeleteThe instructor evaluation can be found under School Forms. That's on the left side of your Common Application. It is not required, only recommended. They can come in after the deadline, but because they are not required, we can't promise that the documents will make it to your file by the time we read your application. We'll accept these by email or fax, but would prefer the recommender to do this.
ReplyDeleteOur fax number is 434-924-7674 and our email address is undergradadmission@virginia.edu or uvaapplicationinfo@virginia.edu
Do the S.A.T. scores and transcripts have to reach UVa by March 1st?
ReplyDeleteWill the classes taken outside of UVA after I get the offer of admission for Fall2011 be still transferable (such as classes taken in this summer) towards my degree? If the answer is positive, is it always the case? Or it’s different for different schools & majors?
ReplyDeleteHow will we know if our course descriptions were received?
ReplyDeleteHello! I am an international student planning to transfer to McIntire School of Commerce in Fall 2011. I am attending a 2-year college in California and I have completed my high school in my country in French. I know I fulfill the foreign language requirements for the University of California, but I was wondering if there was a way I could double-check that I meet the language requirement for UVA.
ReplyDeleteThank you!!
I have not received my SIS account and sent in my application a week ago, when should I receive this?
ReplyDeleteI have a few questions, know that it is hectic right now for you, so will try to keep it short. I am at DCC currently, with a 3.45 gpa, hopefully at the end of this semester will be above 3.5. Will that hinder my chances? Also, my stepfather is an alum, but I don't live with him so couldn't honestly answer the question on the common application. He is writing me a recommendation though, is that something you would consider? Also, I am very interested in art. Even though I am applying for a computer science degree, should I submit an art supplement? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI am an international transfer student and I can not find the school codes of my parents on the common application. What should I do?
ReplyDeleteDo the transcripts and SAT scores have to be at UVa by March 1st or can they be sent after?
ReplyDeleteIs it okay if college transcripts were sent today (March 1) and may not get to UVA on time? Would receiving my college transcript late jeopardize my chances of acceptance?
ReplyDeleteHi, I sent my application the 18th but I just payed the app fee yesterday and did not receive my SIS. Should I be worried or it takes a day or two to process? thanks!
ReplyDeleteAnon, Erika, and Jennifer, I believe today’s post on March 1 will answer your questions.
ReplyDeleteLinda, there is a possibility of these credits transferring, but remember that we only transfer 60 credits into all schools except Engineering, where they accept more than 60 transferable credits.
Randy, we do not confirm this part of the application. If we are in need of them, we will contact you.
Elodie, in your specific case, you would have to take a placement test once you get here. At some point, you must show proficiency.
Hopeful, I can’t and will not chance people on the blog. We’ll look at all recommendations, but an alumni recommendation doesn’t sway us any more than a non-alumni recommendation. If you are interested in perhaps taking an art class or being mildly involved here at UVA, I would recommend that you submit a supplement.
Burte, I believe you can put in 000000 and this should solve your problem.
Worried, you should not be worried. You submitted all three application parts before the deadline.
I graduated high school in 2000 and took the SATs in 1998, I am applying to the comm school. Do I need to have my SAT scores sent?
ReplyDeletei sent my common app and supplement on time, but i forgot to make my payment until today. will that hurt me in any way?
ReplyDeleteYes, you should send these Patrick. We will take into consideration how long ago they were taken.
ReplyDeleteAnon, as you might have found, you should be fine. I hope you made the payment.
If I am not a US citizen, but I am going to university in the US. Do I still need to submit the SAT if I want to apply to the McIntire as a sophomore or junior?
