For those who were admitted and plan on putting down a deposit, your credit evaluations will come in due time.
First, you have to complete final exams. Second, you'll have to send in your final transcript. Send this to the Office of Admission. Third, the registrars in their respective schools will work to evaluate this credit.
Evaluations will be issued in late June and early July. If you were admitted to the College of Arts and Sciences, I understand an introductory letter will be going out to you in the next couple of weeks.
And now, back to answering the comments...
Do we wait till Orientation when we get placed with an adviser, before we start registering for Fall 09 classes?
ReplyDeleteExcellent. On a side note, has anybody been able to view their Financial Aid yet??
ReplyDeleteYou can't register for Fall courses until orientation. At that time, you'll meet with an advisor.
ReplyDeletejt09: yes. I was able to view mine yesterday (I'm not sure if it was up earlier than yesterday, but that's when I went to look). What you should do is log into SIS, and on left side of the screen it says "view financial aid statement" or something to that effect. It's written in small letters and when you sign on there's nothing to indicate you should click there, you just have to know. Hope this helps.
ReplyDeleteTransfermer,
ReplyDeletedo I still have to mail you an official transcript if one you used during admission process is the finalized one? I graduated from vccs in fall 08, and did not take any class in spring 09.
Smiles: I assume that you are referring to the Finances Tab, under financial aid and above accept/decline awards? If so, then no I am still not seeing mine there.
ReplyDeleteIf you don't mind me asking... did you get a good aid package?? thanks!
"Transfermer,

I am actually in the same situation. Respond please!
Also, how do we know if we are admitted in as a Junior or sophomore? Thanks Transfermer!
ReplyDeletejt09: yes that's exactly what I was talking about. As far as aid package is concerned, it's exactly what I was expecting. If you are an instate applicant who has applied to instate universities in the past, the aid package will be roughly the same as those. If you're anxious to see what it will probably look like, UVA's financial aid website has a link where you can determine your need. There's a credit evaluator link on the website from college board. Here's the link: http://www.virginia.edu/financialaid/determine.php.
ReplyDeletejt09,
ReplyDeleteMost of the students have been packaged. You can give Student Financial Services a call to check on it. (434) 982-6000.
okay, sorry uvaUVA!
You need to email us at undergradadmission@virginia.edu if you care to have it taken off now. We'll get to it eventually, but you might as well give us a heads up. That's for you too dongheun.
Dongheun,
Generally it's determined by your years in school.
Thanks Transfermer,
ReplyDeleteYeah I've called them.. they said that they did not get my FAFSA until the day before decisions came out. Really doesn't make sense since I not only subm. it back in Feb., but I had also been in contact with them NUMEROUS times to make sure all materials were at hand (which they confirmed each time that they had it there on hand all was well). Still, today, no package has been updated, and to think that I need to give my decision by this Friday? This is getting rediculous.
To anybody having been waitlisted - at this point I am about 90% positive that I will be turning down my offer to the University. Good luck to each of you.
jt09,
ReplyDeleteIf your decision is based upon financial aid, we will likely be able to grant you an extension.
When should we send AP scores if we wish for them to be evaluated for credit as well?
ReplyDeleteWinston,
ReplyDeleteYou can send them now. It would be helpful at orientation to have them on file.
I just have a general question, will the GPA from previous years also get transferred as well or only the credits that get transferred?
ReplyDeleteThank you!
bt4tt: GPAs do not transfer, only credits.
ReplyDeleteThank you Smiles :)!
ReplyDeletejt09,
ReplyDeleteDid you get your financial aid package?
Do we need to e-mail course descriptions like we did in the fall?
ReplyDeleteI'm a nvcc student and I want to transfer to the school of architecture. I want to know what associate degree from nvcc is transferable to UVA's school of architecture?
