Correction: May 14 Post

On this date, I told you that you could send a list of awards or honors. I should correct myself now and say that anything sent after mid-June will likely not improve your chances. We hope to have everything finished up by that time. I'm sorry for the confusion.

  1. I'm currently taking 16 credits this summer. I will have 3/4 of my Arts and Sciences requirements completed after this summer. Is there anyway I can update the admissions council on my progress? My first 5 weeks of my summer term will be completed by June 22nd. What do you think I should do?

  2. Does anyone know when they'll be letting CLAS wait-listers know? I thought it was today, but someone else said tomorrow. Any idea?

  3. I don't think that the transfermer literally meant that June 1st would be the day that we would all be notified. There are a number of posts that say that the decisions will be made on a rolling basis and that we can expect those rolling decisions to begin in June (probably the 2nd) and continue through the beginning of July. If it helps, you're not the only one desperate for news. I've refreshed my "Status Report" page more times than I can count, even though I know that there won't be a change until sometime this month. Good luck everyone.

  4. But they will update our online accounts as soon as they mail? Or do we have to wait for the mail?

  5. Ryan,

You can email this information to undergradadmission@virginia.edu

Tom is right. Releasing the wait list is a rolling process. We have indeed begun to release decisions. Some may not agree to take our offer of admission, so we wait to see if they reply and we go back to the waitlist. I know I keep bouncing around with this, but we hope to have everything completed by mid to late June.

Confused, great question. Nothing will appear on your status page. Everyone will be notified(assuming you clicked yes or sent in a card to stay on the wait list) by snail mail.

    ReplyDelete
  8. dana were you from a four year college or community college?

    ReplyDelete
  9. who else has found out about the waiting list? and were you accepted?

    ReplyDelete
  10. I got accepted and have mailed my acceptance and deposit do you know when I will be able to apply for rooms and the such? I noticed brown college's last day for them to accept applications for their rooms is May 29 the day before I received my accepted letter. =( I was really looking forward to trying for brown college. I also noticed that May 29th was last day for applications on the housing website. Will we be able to get rooms?

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ACCEPTING ME YOU MADE ME HAVE ONE BEST DAYS OF MY LIFE!! ^_^

  11. Ryan:
What school did you apply to? CLAS?

    ReplyDelete
  12. have all the first decisions been mailed out or could we get something later in the week?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Ok so i agree with Ryan this has got to be the best day of my life so far!

I'm from NVCC so Community College applying to CLAS.

And not to really repeat what Ryan said...but since all the deadlines seem to be past do we just send the stuff anyways? Like with housing and such!

Good luck to the rest waiting to hear! Hope to see you August 23!

  14. do cc kids find out sooner?

    ReplyDelete
  15. I am a community college student waiting for the clas and I have not heard yet either way....hope to hear something soon.....keeping my fingers crossed

  16. day 2 and still nothing...

    ReplyDelete
  17. the wait is killing me!!

    ReplyDelete
  18. im surprised if so many people have heard already, that more people havn't posted they were accepted

    ReplyDelete
  19. Well they did say rolling and so they are probably still sifting through who they want to pull or not. I had all A's for Fall and Spring ( not being a braggart just informing) which when they saw fall was like... this can't be true so i sent my spring grades the day they all posted around May 25th and my letter was marked May 28th so my guess is they may have a pile they are waiting on spring grades for... who knows... they have their ways I Guess..

I once again wish you luck in your continued anticipation!

  20. yeah i was thinking the same thing. i don't think that many have found out yet because no one has said anything on here. that makes me feel a little better.

  21. Ryan and others,

Housing is aware that there will be students released from the wait list and therefore you'll be able to find housing. It may not be your first choice, but there will be housing available. Like I've said it previous posts, for any of that to start moving, you must turn your deposit in, and you should be in their system 10-12 days after we process your deposit.

And yes, we are still in a rolling decision phase. This will continue until the week of June 17. Once again, everyone should hear by the end of June.

    ReplyDelete
  22. How will we know when the deposit is received? Since i believe those not on the wait list were able to see it on their status page and since its been reverted back I cannont?

    ReplyDelete
  23. in a few days, go onto UVA's homepage and search for your name in the people search field. If you come up, you're in and everything is set! From there you can then activate your ID, get email, register for housing, etc. Worked last year so I assume it will this year.

    ReplyDelete
  24. well i guess it is going to be a long 2 weeks checking the mail everyday...haha

    ReplyDelete
  25. i bet they have already sent all their first choices out

    ReplyDelete
  26. How long does it take for the University to process spring transfer credits? I sent my final transcript about two weeks ago, but the credits still are not up on VISTAA transfer list. Will they be processed before the Summer orientation where we get to register for classes? thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  27. if we have not found out yet does that mean our chances are getting slimmer and slimmer?

    ReplyDelete
  28. i think so but having it being a rolling process, i'm keeping my hopes up!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I found out that I was accepted to CLAS on June 7th (SATURDAY)and it was one of the best days of my life. Hope you all find out soon because I know that the wait is very stressful and exhausting. Congrats to those who have already found out and hope to see some of you at orientation this summer.

  30. Audrey,

Whats your major? (just wondering i was Accepted to CLAS)... i think i was the only one who found out on the 2nd... :-\ anyhoo... I know just how excited you where... it was great screaming i got into UVA at my work(GMU) ha!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Dana,
I know it was a relief finding out kind of early.LOL. I am transferring from VCU with a major in Psychology. But I will probably change my major to something else in the near future. Congrats and hopefully we will meet each other at UVA this fall.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Anyone find out from CLAS that is not from a community college?

    ReplyDelete
  33. VCU and GMU are both universities; hence the word 'university' in their respective names. At this point the committee has our Spring grades and there is nothing more that we can do but wait patiently until all of the decisions have been made.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Can you give us an update on whats going to happen next with the waitlist? Please?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Yes, an update would be nice. I have no idea what is going on right now. If you accepted a lot of people and now only a few have spaces or if there are still a lot of opening in CLAS. Any news at this point would be really nice.

    ReplyDelete
  36. update please!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Or just what step you're at and maybe what the next move is

    ReplyDelete
  38. I just called the office and the transfer dean's been out this week so the guy I spoke to said very few decisions were sent out at the end of May taking people off the transfer waitlist but it sounds like they still have alot more to go through

    ReplyDelete
  39. I'm actually not suprised. Some schools don't end until late May and it could take a week or two to get final transcripts in. I'd say things will ramp up over the next week or two

    ReplyDelete
  40. Whoever you are, above anon with the info, thank you so much for sharing!
Best of luck to all of us!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Everyone should call them Monday and report back here with what they say. Maybe we can piece it all together! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  42. Transfermer? Anything?

    ReplyDelete
  43. is there any date we can be given as to when we will definitely find out one way or the other?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Apparently the McIntire dean was out, and decisions won't be made until next week.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Arts and Sciences news?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Who knows. My guess is that they'll be held up too since McIntire people can sometimes go into CLAS if they don't make the McIntire cut.

This is so wrong of them. It's almost July and some people have no way to make plans because of the held decisions. It's also wasting money of those who will have to forfeit deposits at other school, make last minute travel plans, get the bare minimum in housing, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  47. amen to the second paragraph on the last comment...i completely agree.

    ReplyDelete
  48. "We hope to have all decisions mailed by the end of the week"

    ReplyDelete
  49. Actually it's by the end of NEXT week

    ReplyDelete
  50. And they're all being mailed at once

    ReplyDelete
  51. how do you know this?

    ReplyDelete
  52. ya how do you know?

    ReplyDelete
  53. i thought the process was rolling...which ment everyone wasn't going to know at once in the end

    ReplyDelete
  54. again though they say they "hope" to have all decisions made. this is ridiculous. Even if we get in we are going to get screwed over with where to live.

    ReplyDelete
  55. a majority of the applicants will know before transfer orientation. however, some students will stay on the waitlist even when fall starts. this is done just in case any students back out last minute, there would be a slot open.

    ReplyDelete
  56. the least they can do is update us!

    ReplyDelete
  57. ya update clear things up already.....its not that much work...
