If you have someone from a 4 year who has a 3.5 GPA with remedial English and liberal arts math, obviously that individual will be less competitive (and less prepared for UVA) than a student at NVCC with a 4.0 GPA who’s taken statistics and higher level English.

I think it really depends more on the individual candidate (or maybe I just hope that because I’m the second guy in the scenario above).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3308354316414245045.post-78926761532424966992008-11-14T12:06:00.000-05:002008-11-14T12:06:00.000-05:00Anon, I don't think your opinion applies to everyo...Anon, I don't think your opinion applies to everyone. Just because it is "community college" doesn't mean it is easier than 4-year college. It really matters what subject it is, what school it is, and who the instructor is. There are many professors at the community college I am currently attending who also teaches at 4-year college, and their teaching style and materials are exactly the same.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3308354316414245045.post-90791967835667824202008-11-14T10:05:00.000-05:002008-11-14T10:05:00.000-05:00Anon,I realize that this is counterintuitive. Therefore, we are increasing our numbers. However, on the whole, we still have more four year school applicants applying.
